Second Stage Round 7: Basket Esch - BBC Nitia 67-59

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Esch. First ranked Basket Esch faced 4th placed BBC Nitia. Host Basket Esch (14-9) defeated guests from Bettembourg (2-21) 67-59. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Alexandre Rodenbourg (202-91) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 8 rebounds. Slovakian power forward Stefan Svitek (203-77) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Basket Esch players scored in double figures. Latvian power forward Janis Poznaks (202-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and American forward William Arre (199-86, college: Lock Haven) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for BBC Nitia. Basket Esch maintains first place in League with 14-9 record. Newly promoted BBC Nitia keeps the fourth position with 21 games lost. Basket Esch will play against league's second-placed Soleuvre in Belvaux in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BBC Nitia will play at home against Heffingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
