Regular Season Round 28: Sorgues - Challans 87-74

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Sorgues (16-12) defeated at home 10th ranked Vendee Challans (14-14) 87-74. Sorgues players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by forward Vincent Ateba (195-85, college: Missouri So.) who scored that evening 14 points and 8 assists and guard Arnaud Thinon (178-87) supported him with 17 points and 4 assists. Even 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by American forward Josh Almanson (205-82, college: Bowling Green) did not help to save the game for Vendee Challans. Guard Julien Geay (193-85) added 11 points and 5 assists for lost side. Five Sorgues and four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Vendee Challans' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sorgues maintains eighth position with 16-12 record. Vendee Challans at the other side keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost. Sorgues' next round opponent will be higher ranked Roche (#5) on the road and it may be quite challenging game.
