An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bertrange. Second ranked Sparta faced 4th placed Residence. Host Sparta (20-5) defeated guests from Bereldange (12-13) 94-82. The game was mostly controlled by Sparta. Residence managed to win third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sparta dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Residence's 40. They outrebounded Residence 51-19 including a 23-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international forward Larrie Smith (198-75, college: Tenn Tech) fired a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 20 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American point guard Kasey Ulin (184-82, college: Dickinson St.) chipped in 24 points and 7 assists. American forward Marcus Kennedy (193-84, college: Montevallo, agency: Interperformances) produced 28 points and U.S. Virgin Islands forward Jerome Gumbs (194-82, college: USF) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sparta maintains second place in League with 20-5 record behind leader T71. Residence at the other side keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. Sparta are looking forward to face league's leader T71 in Dudelange in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Residence will play at home against Musel Pikes in Stadrbredimus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
