Regular Season Round 24: Muggia - San Martino 61-73

An interesting game for San Martino (18-6) which played road game in Muggia against one of their biggest challengers Muggia (15-9). Third ranked San Martino managed to get a 12-point victory 73-61. It looked good early as Muggia took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then San Martino had a 27-15 second period charge getting the lead and Muggia was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-73. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Alessia Cattapan (175-90) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 rebounds and the former international power forward Martina Sandri (185-88) who added 9 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Annalisa Borroni (183-83) with 20 points and 7 rebounds and guard Jessica Cergol (180-85) scored 16 points. San Martino have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position in North with 18-6 record having just two points less than leader Bologna. Newly promoted Muggia keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Milano. San Martino will play against Alghero (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Muggia will play against Pall.Piemonte (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
