Regular Season Round 20: MIA Academy - Samedicino 83-58

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: MIA (#4) and Samedicino-Academia (#7). MIA (11-7) smashed visiting Samedicino-Academia (7-12) by 25 points 83-58. The game was mostly controlled by MIA. Samedicino-Academia managed to win fourth quarter 21-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Samedicino-Academia to just 7 points in first quarter. MIA dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Samedicino-Academia's 32. MIA forced 22 Samedicino-Academia turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Larry Blair (183-84, college: Liberty, agency: Pro One Sports) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Bosnian-Croatian center Alen Trepalovac (214-85, agency: World Sport Agency) who added 19 points during the contest. Four MIA players scored in double figures. Guard Mikheil Chochua (193-87) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian power forward Nemanja Ilic (206-83) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. MIA maintains fourth position with 11-7 record. Samedicino-Academia at the other side keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost. MIA's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena TSU.
