There was no surprise in Uusikaupunki where 10th ranked UU-Korihait (12-27) was defeated by second ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit (27-12) 90-83 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-83. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 7 assists. Guard Martin Zeno (196-85, college: Texas Tech) helped adding 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Loimaan Korikonkarit's coach Greg Gibson used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side swingman Jonathan Heard (198-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Nigel Moore (195-81, college: Alabama A&M) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Loimaan Korikonkarit have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 27-12 record having five points less than leader Kataja, which they share with Pyrinto. UU-Korihait lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 27 games lost. Loimaan Korikonkarit will meet at home KTP-Basket (#6) in the next round. UU-Korihait will play against Torpan Pojat (#5) in Helsinki and hope to secure a win.
