Regular Season Round 30: Polonia - Spojnia 63-70

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Spojnia (17-11) defeated 9th ranked Polonia (14-14) in Przemysl 70-63 on Sunday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-8. But Polonia won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Spojnia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Spojnia made 8 blocks. It was a good game for point guard Tomasz Ochonko (185-86) who led his team to a victory with 12 points and 6 assists. The former international center Wiktor Grudzinski (208-78) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Artur Mikolajko (197-79) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Marek Miszczuk (212-77) added 12 points in the effort for Polonia. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Spojnia moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Znicz Basket and Sokol Lancut. Newly promoted Polonia keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost.
