No shocking result in a game in Lodz where fifth ranked Polpharma (13-20) defeated 8th ranked LKS Sphinx (6-28) 96-83 on Sunday. The game without a history. Polpharma led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Polpharma had a 30-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Brandon Hazzard (188-87, college: Troy) who had a double-double by scoring 45 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. The other American import forward Jeremy Simmons (203-89, college: Charleston, agency: Interperformances) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Polpharma's coach Wojciech Kaminski allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Jaroslaw Zyskowski (201-92) who recorded 23 points and center Krzysztof Sulima (202-90) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Four LKS Sphinx players scored in double figures. Polpharma have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position in Group B with 13-20 record. Newly promoted LKS Sphinx keeps the eighth place with 28 games lost. Polpharma will face higher ranked Siarka Jezioro (#4) in Tarnobrzeg in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. LKS Sphinx will play on the road against the league's second-placed AZS Koszalin (#2).
