We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Firenze (11-22) beat on the road 4th placed Latina Basket (16-17) 73-61 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Firenze. Latina Basket was better in fourth quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Swingman Alessandro Amici (200-91) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and point guard Diego Monaldi (190-93) chipped in 13 points. Four Firenze players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized Serbian forward Marko Micevic (198-89) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and forward Giulio Gazzotti (202-91) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Firenze have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Firenze maintains fifth place with 11-22 record, which they share with Comsum.it SI. Loser Latina Basket dropped to the third position with 17 games lost. Firenze will face higher ranked Bari (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Latina Basket will play against Treviglio and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
