Regular Season Round 33: FCM Ferentino - Perugia 99-77

There was a minor upset when 3rd placed Perugia (16-17) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Ferentino (20-13) 99-77 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Ferentino. Perugia was better in fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ferentino shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Perugia's players. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Manuel Carrizo (198-80, agency: Players Group) stepped up and scored 21 points and 4 assists for the winners and guard Francesco Guarino (182-79) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Ferentino players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Davide Poltroneri (195-85) with 25 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Giacomo Chiatti (183-86) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Perugia's coach Andrea Fabrizi gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Ferentino moved-up to second place, which they share with Orlandina and Torino. Loser Perugia keeps the third position with 17 games lost. Ferentino will face Santarcangelo (#4) in Sant'Arcangelo in the next round. Perugia will play against Fabriano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
