Third-ranked Anibal (17-10) gave a tough game to first ranked Champville (25-2) in Zahle on Wednesday. The visitors from Dik El Mehdi managed to secure only one-point victory 95-94. However their fans expected easier game. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-18. But Anibal won second period 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for the former international forward Fadi Khatib (199-79, agency: Pro Management Agency) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. International power forward Samuel Hoskin (206-79, college: De Paul, agency: Higher Vision Sports) helped adding 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. American swingman LeRoy Hurd (202-80, college: UTSA, agency: Higher Vision Sports) responded with 30 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) scored 27 points and 7 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Champville have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 25-2 record. Anibal at the other side keeps the third position with ten games lost. Champville are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Hoops Club (#8) in Beirut in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Anibal will play on the road against Al Moutahed (#5) in Tripoli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
