Rather expected game when 7th ranked Bank of Taiwan (7-22) lost to fifth ranked KKL (13-15) 59-68 on Friday. Bank of Taiwan was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. KKL made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. KKL outrebounded Bank of Taiwan 37-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for American center Elbert Fuqua (211-83, college: UTSA, agency: Top Notch Sports) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Cheng Liu (192-90) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four KKL players scored in double figures. The former international forward Chih-Chiang Hsu (194-82) answered with 30 points and international forward Shun-Hsiang Chen (190-85) added 5 points and 4 assists in the effort for Bank of Taiwan. Bank of Taiwan's coach Liang-Chung Lai gave the chance to play for twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for KKL. They maintain fifth place with 13-15 record. Loser Bank of Taiwan stay at the bottom position with 22 games lost. KKL will face league's second-placed Taiwan Beer in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bank of Taiwan will play against the league's leader Pure Youth (#1).
