The game was mostly controlled by Fenerbahce. Mersin managed to win third quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Cappie Pondexter (175-83, college: Rutgers) scored 25 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Angel McCoughtry (185-86, college: Louisville) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Guard Shavonte Zellous (178-86, college: Pittsburgh) responded with 20 points and forward Christi Thomas (191-82, college: Georgia) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds.
