Regular Season Round 26: Ikaroi Serron - Apollon Patras 69-68

The most exciting game of round 26 in the A2 took place in Serres. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Apollon Patras (18-8) to fifth ranked Ikaroi Serron (16-10) 69-68 on Saturday evening. Apollon Patras trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 24-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 68-69 at the end of the game. Power forward Evaggelis Margaritis (202-82) saved the victory by scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Savvas Kaberidis (187-78) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Naturalized Serbian swingman Vladimir Petrovic-Stergiou (198-77, agency: BeoExcell) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and guard Nikos Argyropoylos (188-78) added 15 points and 5 assists in the effort for Apollon Patras. Ikaroi Serron moved-up to third place, which they share with AEK and Nea Kifisia. Apollon Patras at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. Ikaroi Serron is looking forward to face league's leader Panelefsiniakos in Eleusina in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Apollon Patras will play at home against Perama Ermis and is hoping to win this game.
