Regular Season Round 23: Voiron - Reims 71-65

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Reims (8-16) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Etoile de Voiron (13-10) 71-65. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 16-10 Reims' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 71-65 at the end of the game. Etoile de Voiron forced 22 Reims turnovers. Strangely Reims outrebounded Etoile de Voiron 40-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. American forward Amanda Lassiter (186-79, college: Missouri) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Cyrielle Recoura (172-91) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. Mali center Astan Dabo (203-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 19 rebounds and Croatian power forward Iva Grbas (188-87) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Reims. Etoile de Voiron have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Reims at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Etoile de Voiron's next round opponent will be SIG (#10) in llkirch-Graff. which should be theoretically an easy game.
