Very expected game when 13th ranked Gran Canaria 2014 (11-17) lost to eighth ranked Cajasol (15-13) in Las Palmas 66-74 on Sunday. Gran Canaria 2014 was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a very good performance for Serbian guard Milenko Tepic (198-87, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 12 points. American-Bulgarian guard Earl Calloway (191-83, college: Indiana) contributed with 11 points and 5 assists for the winners. American-Azerbaijani forward Spencer Nelson (203-80, college: Utah St.) replied with 12 points and 6 rebounds and Greek swingman Michael Bramos (196-87, college: Miami, OH) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for Gran Canaria 2014. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cajasol maintains eighth position with 15-13 record. Loser Gran Canaria 2014 keeps the thirteenth place with 17 games lost. Cajasol will face Blusens Monbus (#15) in Santoago de Comp in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gran Canaria 2014 will play on the road against Asefa Estudiantes in Madrid.
