Regular Season Round 28: CAI Zaragoza - FCB Regal 49-68

ACB top team - Regal FC Barcelona (23-5) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed tenth ranked CAI Zaragoza (14-14) 68-49. The game without a history. Regal FC Barcelona led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to CAI Zaragoza's 28. The winners were led by Senegalese center Boniface Ndong (213-77) who scored that evening 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Brazilian-Italian point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-83, agency: Edge Sports) supported him with 5 points and 9 rebounds. Even a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds by American power forward Charles Rhodes (203-85, college: Mississippi St.) did not help to save the game for CAI Zaragoza. Icelandic guard Jon Stefansson (196-82) added 13 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Regal FC Barcelona have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 23-5 record. Loser CAI Zaragoza dropped to the ninth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Unicaja. Regal FC Barcelona will meet at home Lagun Aro GBC (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. CAI Zaragoza will play against FIATC Joventut in Badalona and hope to secure a win.
