Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Banco di Sard. (16-10) defeated 12th ranked Benetton Treviso (11-15) in Sassari 89-77. Benetton Treviso was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 51-37 second half run of Banco di Sard.. They made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Benetton Treviso was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Georgian swingman Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and American point guard Travis Diener (184-82, college: Marquette) who added 14 points and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Jobey Thomas (194-80, college: Charlotte) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized American forward Jeffrey Viggiano (197-84, college: Massachusetts) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Banco di Sard. moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Benetton Treviso at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. They share it with Fabi Shoes. Banco di Sard. will play against Fabi Shoes Montegranaro (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
