There was a small surprise when seventeenth ranked CB Granada (7-24) defeated at home 15th ranked CB Tarragona 2017 (11-20) 79-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by CB Granada. CB Tarragona 2017 was better in third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded CB Tarragona 2017 41-25 including a 32-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. CB Tarragona 2017 was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Jose Manuel Coego (204-78) fired 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Jesus Fernandez (204-75) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Five CB Granada players scored in double figures. Dutch-British guard Devon Van Oostrum (190-93) produced 19 points and power forward Roger Fornas (202-82) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side.
