Regular Season Round 52: Osaka Evessa - Niigata Albirex 103-92

An interesting game for Osaka Evessa (31-15) which hosted in Osaka one of their biggest challengers Niigata Albirex (25-21). Second ranked Osaka Evessa managed to get a 11-point victory 103-92. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 103-92. Osaka Evessa shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by American forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 blocks and Haitian-American swingman Bobby St.Preux (196-80, college: N.Kentucky, agency: KMG Sports Management) supported him with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 18 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists by American power forward Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) did not help to save the game for Niigata Albirex. His fellow American import guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) added 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Five Osaka Evessa and four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. Niigata Albirex's coach Matt Garrison tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Osaka Evessa maintains second position with 31-15 record having just -1 point less than leader Okinawa GK. Loser Niigata Albirex keeps the third place with 21 games lost. Osaka Evessa will meet Toyama Grouses (#5) on the road in the next round. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round.
