An interesting game for Grodno-93 (23-3) which hosted in Grodno 4th ranked Minsk-2006 II (9-17). Second ranked Grodno-93 had an easy win 96-61. The game without a history. Grodno-93 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Minsk-2006 II's 30. They outrebounded Minsk-2006 II 43-31 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ukrainian center Vadim Matyukevych (208-80) notched 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and forward Yuri Hlebovich (203-83) supported him with 13 points. Grodno-93's coach Andrei Vasileuka felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 13 points and 5 rebounds by the former international guard Maksim Shustau (184-86) did not help to save the game for Minsk-2006 II. Lithuanian forward Ronaldas Rutkauskas (203-92) added 10 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Grodno-93 maintains second position in League with 23-3 record having just two points less than leader Minsk-2006. Newly promoted Minsk-2006 II keeps the fourth place with 17 games lost. Grodno-93 will meet at home league's leader Minsk-2006 in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Minsk-2006 II will play against Rubon in Vitebsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
