4th placed Fuerza Guinda Nogales (11-6) fell to fifth ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (8-9) in overtime by three points 96-99 on Tuesday night. The game took place in Nogales. But the guests from Culiacan were better at the end. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Fuerza Guinda Nogales. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime then Fuerza Guinda Nogales managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Caballeros de Culiacan who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 15-12. American forward Rob Robinson (203-87, college: Robert Morris, agency: SDJ Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. The former international center Rodrigo Zamora (206-86, college: Montana St.) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Caballeros de Culiacan players scored in double figures. Caballeros de Culiacan's coach Jonathan Meza used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) answered with 38 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and international forward Michael Strobbe (201-85) added 23 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Fuerza Guinda Nogales. Caballeros de Culiacan have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 8-9 record, which they share with Cananea. Fuerza Guinda Nogales at the other side keep the fourth position with six games lost. Caballeros de Culiacan will have a break next round. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will play again at home against Caballeros de Culiacan (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
