Ninth-ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (6-12) gave a tough game to second ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (14-4) on Wednesday. The visitors from Hermosillo managed to secure only eight-point victory 100-92. However their fans expected much easier game. Garra Canera de Navolato was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 8-point lead after three quarters before a 28-20 charge of Rayos de Hermosillo, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 16-8. Rayos de Hermosillo dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Garra Canera de Navolato's 42 and made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game.
