Regular Season Round 25: Maccabi Ashdod - Netanya 77-87

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (11-11) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Elitzur Netanya (9-14) 87-77. The game without a history. Elitzur Netanya led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Maccabi Ashdod's players. Point guard Lior Lifshitz (178-84) nailed a double-double by scoring 12 points, 6 rebounds and 14 assists for the winning side and American power forward Warren Carter (205-85, college: Illinois) accounted for 20 points and 10 rebounds. American swingman Josh Carter (201-88, college: Texas A&M) came up with 20 points and the other American import forward Alex Tyus (203-88, college: Florida) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Maccabi Ashdod in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Elitzur Netanya maintains eighth place with 9-14 record. Maccabi Ashdod at the other side keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. Elitzur Netanya will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Maccabi Ashdod will play on the road against B.C. Habikaa (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
