Regular Season Round 25: Maccabi Rishon - Maccabi T-A 74-77

Third-ranked Maccabi Rishon (14-9) gave a tough game to first ranked Maccabi T-A (20-2) in Rishon Le-Zion on Wednesday. The visitors from Tel-Aviv managed to secure only three-point victory 77-74. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Maccabi Rishon. Maccabi Rishon was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Maccabi T-A looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American swingman Keith Langford (193-83, college: Kansas) stepped up and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward David Blu (201-80, college: USC) chipped in 15 points. At the losing side American forward Brandon Bowman (204-84, college: Georgetown) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (201-84, college: Hofstra, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) scored 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 20-2 record. Maccabi Rishon at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. Maccabi T-A are looking forward to face Hapoel Holon (#5) at home in the next round. Maccabi Rishon will play against the league's second-placed Galil Gilboa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
