There was no surprise when 12th ranked Lyon (7-19) was defeated at home by second ranked Lattes Montpellier (21-5) 78-69 on Wednesday. Lyon was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Lyon 47-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. The former international point guard Edwige Lawson-Wade (166-79) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Fatimatou Sacko (183-85) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Lattes Montpellier players scored in double figures. American center Krystal Thomas (195-89, college: Duke) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and forward Leslie Ardon (181-79) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Lattes Montpellier maintains second position with 21-5 record behind leader Bourges. Newly promoted Lyon keeps the twelfth place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Aix-en-Provence.
