Very expected game when 17th ranked CB Granada (7-25) lost to fifth ranked Grupo Iruna Navarra (20-12) in Pamplona 90-104 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Grupo Iruna Navarra. CB Granada managed to win third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Grupo Iruna Navarra made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. The winners were led by Czech center Ondrej Starosta (215-79) who scored that evening 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Inaki Narros (194-81) supported him with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by the former international center Jesus Fernandez (204-75) did not help to save the game for CB Granada. Power forward Eduardo Ruiz (205-83) added 15 points for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Grupo Iruna Navarra have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Menorca and Lleida. Loser CB Granada keeps the seventeenth position with 25 games lost. Grupo Iruna Navarra will meet league's second-placed Ford Burgos on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. CB Granada will play against Leche Rio Breogan (#8) in Lugo and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the ACB just one year after relegation.
