The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Rayos de Hermosillo as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Rayos de Hermosillo smashed 4th placed Fuerza Guinda Nogales at home 98-75. The game was mostly controlled by Rayos de Hermosillo. Fuerza Guinda Nogales managed to win second period 27-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international forward Jesus Lopez (205-83, college: SW Baptist) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Patrick Sanders (198-85, college: Cal-Irvine) chipped in 24 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Five Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo's coach Dan Tacheny felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Robert Jarvis (180-87, college: ORU) added 12 points respectively for lost side. Rayos de Hermosillo have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Fuerza Guinda Nogales at the other side keep the fourth place with seven games lost. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Rayos de Hermosillo will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales at home.
