The game between third ranked Rubon (13-14) and fourth ranked Minsk-2006 II (10-17) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Rubon was defeated by Minsk-2006 II in Minsk 88-99. Rubon was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 37-22 charge of Minsk-2006 II, which allowed them to win the game. Minsk-2006 II outrebounded Rubon 47-30 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for forward Aliaksandr Semianiuk (210-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Lithuanian forward Ronaldas Rutkauskas (203-92) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Siarhei Sapegin (195-84) answered with 26 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Dmitri Akulich (192-86) added 15 points and 6 assists in the effort for Rubon. Five Minsk-2006 II and four Rubon players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Minsk-2006 II maintains fourth place in League with 10-17 record. Rubon at the other side keeps the third position with 14 games lost. Minsk-2006 II are looking forward to face league's second-placed Grodno-93 at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rubon will play against the league's leader Minsk-2006 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
