Regular Season Round 19: Los Mochis - Guasave 93-100

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (8-11) were defeated at home by eighth ranked Frayles de Guasave (8-11) 100-93. Pioneros Los Mochis were ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 32-19 charge of Frayles de Guasave, which allowed them to win the game. They made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Russell Carter (196-85, college: Notre Dame) who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Panamanian forward Gabriel Giron (192-88) accounted for 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Tayloe Taylor (191-86, college: Livingstone) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists and the other American import forward Seth Scott (206-81, college: Portland St., agency: Court Side) added 25 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Pioneros Los Mochis in the defeat. Four Pioneros Los Mochis players scored in double figures. Frayles de Guasave moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Los Mochis and Culiacan. Frayles de Guasave will have a break next round.
