Ninth-ranked Etendard de Brest (16-15) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Roche (22-9). Roche managed to secure only three-point victory 86-83. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-22. But Etendard de Brest won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Roche made 25-of-30 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game, while Etendard de Brest only scored six points from the stripe. Etendard de Brest was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Moustafa Diallo (200-86) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 4 assists. Bahamas power forward Lavar Simmons (201-83, college: Master's) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Cameroonian power forward Brice Vounang (202-82, college: San Diego) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and guard Antoine Liorel (181-89) added 13 points and 7 assists in the effort for Etendard de Brest. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Roche. They maintain fifth place with 22-9 record. Etendard de Brest at the other side keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Roche will play against Sorgues (#8) on the road in the next round. Etendard de Brest will play against CFBB in Paris and hopes to get back on the winning track.
