Regular Season Round 25: O.G. Collegno - Muggia 73-68

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Pall.Piemonte (9-17) defeated at home 4th placed Muggia (15-10) 73-68 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-14. But Muggia won second period 17-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Muggia outrebounded Pall.Piemonte 37-25 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Chilean-Spanish forward Valentina Aragonese (173-79, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording 25 points. Guard Alice Quarta (175-91) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Guard Annalisa Borroni (183-83) answered with 23 points and guard Jessica Cergol (180-85) added 21 points and 5 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!) in the effort for Muggia. Pall.Piemonte have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to tenth place in North. Muggia lost third consecutive game. Muggia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. Pall.Piemonte will face Bolzano (#11) on the road in the next round. Muggia will play against Milano (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
