Second Stage Round 8: Soleuvre - Basket Esch 65-86

An interesting game for Basket Esch (15-9) which played road game in Belvaux against second-ranked Soleuvre (12-12). First ranked Basket Esch had an easy win 86-65. Soleuvre was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Soleuvre 43-21 including a 29-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Slovakian power forward Stefan Svitek (203-77) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Serbian forward Marko Latinovic (202-87, college: Erskine) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Basket Esch's coach Franck Meriguet felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Belgian power forward Dimitri Jorssen (212-79, college: Utah St.) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and swingman David Controguerra (194-86) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. Basket Esch maintains first position in League with 15-9 record. Soleuvre at the other side keeps the second place with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
