There was no surprise when 5th ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (12-13) was crushed on the road by third ranked Base Oostende (17-8) 78-54 on Saturday. The game without a history. Base Oostende led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The game was also dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Matt Lojeski (198-85, college: Hawaii) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Christopher Booker (208-81, college: Purdue) who added 10 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Base Oostende players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Justin Cage (198-85, college: Xavier, agency: Priority Sports) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and forward Ahmad Nivins (206-87, college: St.Joseph's) scored 17 points. Belfius Mons-Hainaut's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Base Oostende moved-up to second place, which they share with Antwerp. Loser Belfius Mons-Hainaut dropped to the sixth position with 13 games lost. Base Oostende will meet Optima Gent (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Belfius Mons-Hainaut will play against VOO Verviers-Pepinster and hope to secure a win.
