Regular Season Round 25: Napoli BK - Pomezia 73-47

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Pomezia (7-16) was outleveled on the road by ninth ranked Napoli BK Women (11-14) 73-47 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Napoli BK Women. Pomezia was better in fourth quarter 17-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Pomezia to just 5 points in third quarter. Napoli BK Women forced 26 Pomezia turnovers. It was a very good performance for Bulgarian power forward Milena Tomova (189-82, college: FIU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. point guard Viviana Giordano (167-89) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Laura Perseu (169-85) answered with 11 points and point guard Oriana Milazzo (170-91) added 10 points and 6 steals in the effort for Pomezia. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Napoli BK Women maintains ninth place in South with 11-14 record. Pomezia lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Napoli BK Women will face higher ranked Ancona (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pomezia will play against Napoli S.Dike (#8).
