Second Stage Round 7: Telstar - Racing 63-82

An interesting game for Racing (7-17) which played road game in Hesperange against 4th placed Telstar (0-24). Third ranked Racing had an easy win 82-63. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 52-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Telstar outrebounded Racing 39-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Bridget Yoerger (180-87, college: S.Dakota, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Pauline Hublart (177-93) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Canadian forward Dale-Marie Cumberbatch (180-88, agency: LBM Management) came up with 29 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Maggie McKemie (185, college: Boston U.) added 14 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Telstar in the defeat. Telstar's coach Paul Medernach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Racing maintains third place in League with 7-17 record having four points less than leader Amicale. Newly promoted Telstar still closes the standings with 24 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
