Very expected game when 10th ranked Arxil Pontevedra (9-15) was defeated at home by second ranked Socinsa Bembibre (19-5) 69-62 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 7 points. Socinsa Bembibre dominated on the defensive end, holding Arxil Pontevedra to just 6 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Arxil Pontevedra's 22. American center LaNedra Brown (188-81, college: Seton Hall) fired 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Irene Salgado (184-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 14 points. Four Socinsa Bembibre players scored in double figures. Loser Arxil Pontevedra keeps the tenth place with 15 games lost. Socinsa Bembibre will face Aguere (#11) in Santa Cruz de T. in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Arxil Pontevedra will play on the road against Pabellon Ourense and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
