Regular Season Round 54: Saitama Bron. - Fukuoka Rizing 69-75

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (30-18) defeated on the road 9th ranked Saitama Broncos (14-34) 75-69 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Saitama Broncos won third quarter 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Fukuoka Rizing won last quarter 25-21. They also forced 23 Saitama Broncos turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: VVG Sports) had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 9 steals to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Top Notch Sports) chipped in 22 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman John Humphrey (188-80, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: Court Side) with 26 points and 6 rebounds and forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: KMG Sports Management) scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Fukuoka Rizing maintains fifth position with 30-18 record. Saitama Broncos lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 34 games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will face Shinshu BW (#7) in Nagano in the next round. Saitama Broncos will play on the road against Oita Heat Devils and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
