Very expected game when 5th ranked Matera (15-19) was defeated on the road by first ranked Trieste (24-10) 73-62 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Trieste. Matera was better in third quarter 21-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Trieste forced 20 Matera turnovers. Alfredo Moruzzi (193-80) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Marco Carra (185-80) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Trieste's coach Eugenio Dalmasson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side guard Gianni Cantagalli (196-88, agency: Players Group) responded with 16 points and naturalized Argentinian guard Sebastian Vico (190-86, agency: Players Group) scored 8 points and 5 assists.
