The game between third ranked Caja Laboral (20-9) and eleventh ranked Assignia Manresa (14-15) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Caja Laboral was edged by Assignia Manresa in a tough game in Manresa 70-72. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Strangely Caja Laboral outrebounded Assignia Manresa 41-23 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Assignia Manresa made 7 blocks. Ukrainian swingman Sergii Gladyr (196-88) stepped up and scored 18 points and 4 assists for the winners and American forward Justin Doellman (206-85, college: Xavier) chipped in 16 points. Assignia Manresa's coach Jaume Ponsarnau used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Bosnian forward Mirza Teletovic (206-85, agency: Beo Basket) responded with 22 points and Serbian-Montenegrin center Milko Bjelica (207-84, agency: Beo Basket) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Assignia Manresa moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Unicaja and CAI Zaragoza. Caja Laboral at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. Assignia Manresa is looking forward to face higher ranked Meridiano Alicante (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caja Laboral will play against UCAM Murcia (#15) and is hoping to win this game.
