Regular Season Round 29: Benetton TV - Oknoplast BO 63-59

There was an upset when higher ranked CS Bologna (15-12) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Benetton Treviso (12-15) 63-59 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-12. But CS Bologna won second period 11-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naturalized American forward Jeffrey Viggiano (197-84, college: Massachusetts) stepped up and scored 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Israeli-Polish point guard Gal Mekel (192-88, college: Wichita St.) chipped in 12 points. Benetton Treviso's coach Alexander Djordjevic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Georgian forward Viktor Sanikidze (203-86, agency: World Sport Agency) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and Finnish guard Petteri Koponen (194-88) scored 12 points. Benetton Treviso moved-up to eleventh place. CS Bologna at the other side keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Benetton Treviso will face league's leader Montepaschi Siena on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
