Very significant was Minsk-2006's (#1, 27-1) victory against 3rd ranked Rubon (13-15) 100-94. Rubon was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 50-42 second half run of Minsk-2006. They outrebounded Rubon 47-27 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Rubon was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American forward Justin Knox (205-89, college: N.Carolina) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and the former international forward Aliaksei Lashkevich (204-78) supported him with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Knox is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 19 points by point guard Artem Malkov (185-88) did not help to save the game for Rubon. The former international guard Dmitri Akulich (192-86) added 14 points and 6 assists for lost side. Four Minsk-2006 and five Rubon players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first position in League with 27-1 record. Rubon at the other side keeps the third place with 15 games lost. Minsk-2006's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Minsk Minsk-2006 II.
