CIBACOPA top team - Rayos de Hermosillo (17-4) added another victory to their record on Tuesday. This time they beat fifth ranked Mineros de Cananea (9-12) 82-77. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 23-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) who scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Brian Hamilton (198-82, college: La-Lafayette) chipped in 16 points. Little is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Rayos de Hermosillo's coach Dan Tacheny used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American guard Franco Harris (183-83, college: Boise St.) who recorded 20 points and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American guard Roburt Sallie (196-86, college: Memphis) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five Rayos de Hermosillo and four Mineros de Cananea players scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 17-4 record. Defending champion Mineros de Cananea dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Guasave. Rayos de Hermosillo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mineros de Cananea will play again against the league's leader Rayos de Hermosillo (#1) and hope to secure a win.
