Rather expected game when 9th ranked VOO Verviers-Pepinster (5-21) was smashed by sixth ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (13-13) in Quaregnon 92-67 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Belfius Mons-Hainaut. VOO Verviers-Pepinster was better in second period 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Belfius Mons-Hainaut made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. American guard Quincy Taylor (196-82, college: UAB) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import swingman Shan Foster (198-86, college: Vanderbilt) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized DR Congolese swingman Wen Boss Mukubu (198-83, college: UAB, agency: SportsTalent) answered with 13 points and 9 rebounds and American power forward Jason Love (206-87, college: Xavier) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for VOO Verviers-Pepinster. Five Belfius Mons-Hainaut and four VOO Verviers-Pepinster players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Belfius Mons-Hainaut maintains sixth place with 13-13 record. VOO Verviers-Pepinster at the other side stay dead last with 21 lost games. Belfius Mons-Hainaut will face league's second-placed Antwerp Giants at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. VOO Verviers-Pepinster will play against Leuven Bears (#5).
