Second Stage Round 1: Den Bosch - Leeuwarden 92-71

There was a change at the Eredivisie leadership position after last games. The most important game of round 1 took place in Den Bosch between two undefeated teams of Group A where Den Bosch crushed Leeuwarden (0-1) 92-71 on Thursday night. It was a key game for the top position in Group A. The game without a history. Den Bosch led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. American point guard Frank Turner (178-88, college: Canisius, agency: Court Side) stepped up and scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and the former international forward Kees Akerboom (200-83, agency: Court Side) chipped in 19 points. Den Bosch's coach Raoul Korner felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side center Sjors Poels (209-86, agency: R.H.Consultancy) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Nigerian forward Manny Adako (203-87, college: Northeastern, agency: Court Side) scored 14 points. Five Den Bosch and four Leeuwarden players scored in double figures. Den Bosch (1-0) keeps a position of Group A leader. Leeuwarden at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Weert. Leeuwarden will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Den Bosch will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Leiden on the road.
