The game had a very big importance for first-ranked SBK Osipovichi as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. SBK Osipovichi defeated second-ranked BGUIR-RTI in Minsk 82-67. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in League. The game without a history. SBK Osipovichi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to BGUIR-RTI's 38. SBK Osipovichi players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by BGUIR-RTI's players. Guard Ilya Sharipov (197-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Siarhei Charykau (184-82, college: Yakima Valley CC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Four SBK Osipovichi players scored in double figures. Forward Evgeniy Sugoniako (198-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Genniadiy Zakhar (198-92) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for BGUIR-RTI. As mentioned above they took over a top position. BGUIR-RTI at the other side still keeps top place with 17 games lost. BGUIR-RTI will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. SBK Osipovichi will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Sozh Gomel at home.
