Regular Season Round 25: Las Rozas - Plasencia 80-81

A very interesting game took place in Las Rozas. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th placed Las Rozas (14-9) to eleventh ranked Plasencia Extremadura (7-16) 81-80 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Alex Ros (192-83) who helped to win the game recording 19 points. American forward Clayton Longmire (201-84, college: St.Rose, NY) contributed with 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Plasencia Extremadura's coach Pedro Calles allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Javier Salson (199-82, college: Bloomfield) answered with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and American swingman Nick Wolf (198-88, college: Rollins, agency: KMG Sports Management) added 19 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Las Rozas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Plasencia Extremadura moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Tenerife and Oviedo CB. Newly promoted Las Rozas keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Plasencia Extremadura's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Gandia Basquet (#13) in Valencia. Las Rozas will play on the road against Leyma Basquet (#6) in Coruna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
