Fourth-ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (12-11) made lots of trouble for second ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (18-5) on Friday. The visitors from Tijuana managed to secure only two-point victory 92-90. However their fans expected easier game. Fuerza Guinda Nogales trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 31-22 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 90-92 at the end of the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa, agency: Edge Sports) chipped in 21 points. Swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds and guard Michael Gale (193-82, college: Centenary) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. They maintain second place with 18-5 record behind leader Hermosillo. Fuerza Guinda Nogales lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 11 games lost. Tijuana Zonkeys will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will play again at home against the league's second-placed Tijuana Zonkeys (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
