Quarter-Finals Round 3: Lusitania - Ovarense 67-64

Lusitania came up with the biggest upset of the quarterfinal stage as they swept the series versus Ovarense. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ovarense won third quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lusitania brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a great evening for guard Augusto Sobrinho (188-85) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 5 assists. American point guard Ricky Franklin (185-87, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) helped adding 10 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Four Lusitania players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Andre Pinto (200-80) with 12 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Austen Powers (203-87, college: Seattle) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds.
