Very expected game when 8th ranked Belgacom Liege (8-18) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Okapi Aalstar (15-12) 86-67. The game was mostly controlled by Okapi Aalstar. Belgacom Liege was better in third quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Okapi Aalstar players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American forward Christopher Copeland (203-84, college: Colorado) notched 26 points to lead the effort and international point guard Jorn Steinbach (181-89, agency: Court Side) supported him with 20 points and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Okapi Aalstar's coach Brad Dean allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 18 points by American forward Josh Bostic (196-87, college: Findlay, OH) did not help to save the game for Belgacom Liege. His fellow American import forward Terrence Jennings (205-88, college: Louisville) added 9 points and 7 rebounds. Okapi Aalstar maintains fourth position with 15-12 record. Belgacom Liege lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 18 games lost. Okapi Aalstar will play against higher ranked Base Oostende (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Belgacom Liege will play against Leuven Bears (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
